Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) struggles amid lockdown in Emmerdale — as does Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) — and the pair’s marital problems soon come to light, but will this spell the end for their relationship?
With the Woolpack closed amid lockdown, Chas begins to struggle, as she feels cut off from every aspect of her life, and — in spite of her desire to make the most out of the lockdown period — she’s finding it hard to cope.
However, while Chas struggles, Paddy seems set on drinking the cellar dry.
Mind you, the vet soon becomes aware that not all is as it seems between he and his lover, and therefore he reveals his desire to get thinks back on track.
One Thursday evening —following the clap for carers — Chas is evidently emotional, and Paddy takes the opportunity to reflect.
Yes, he eagerly reveals his plans — but will Chas be happy with what he’s got to say?
There’s evidently more going on under the surface that has yet to be addressed, but will they be able to open up about what’s the matter?
Dominic Brunt — who plays Paddy — revealed: ‘As usual he [Paddy] doesn’t read the signs straight away and should have seen Chas was unhappy months ago. I just hope he’s not too late.
‘I think he’ll do everything in his power to save his marriage. He loves her and he loves Eve.’
Emmerdale continues Monday 22 June at 7pm on ITV.
