EastEnders will air its last pre-lockdown episode tonight.
The BBC One serial drama was forced to suspend production back in March amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In an effort to ensure the soap remained on our screens for as long as possible, episodes were rationed out at two a week as opposed to the usual four.
Production was given the green light to resume, and it will seemingly do so later this month, but with tonight’s episode having been the last filmed prior to production having shut down, EastEnders will go off the air for the first time in it’s 35 year-run.
However, it will do so in an explosive way, as the war for the Queen Vic wages on, before reaching a thunderous conclusion.
Tonight’s episode sees Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) puts pressure on Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) to sign the paperwork and thus finalise The Queen Vic contract.
However, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) stands her ground — making clear that she doesn’t want him in her beloved boozer after the appalling way he’s been treating Sharon.
The question remains: who will be victorious?
Who will get their hands on the beloved boozer?
EastEnders airs its final episode on Tuesday 16 June at 7:30pm on BBC One.
