Spare a thought – only kidding – for Piers Morgan, whose ratings for his much-hyped new TV show have tumbled 80% since launch.
Piers Morgan Uncensored launched with much fanfare on Talk TV with Morgan’s interview with Donald Trump. But in the week since, average ratings have fallen from 317,000 to 62,000, reports the Guardian.
Some shows have even been getting the dreaded ‘zero rating’.
Trump wasn’t happy with how the trailer for his interview made it look like he stormed out, and it didn’t take him long to put the boot in.
NEW!
President Donald J. Trump:
“Ratings for the Piers Morgan interview with me were great! Unfortunately, after that interview, his show bombed completely because of the fake narrative he tried to portray. The fact is, I got a new close-up glimpse at Piers, and he no longer… pic.twitter.com/m2owkGScBo

And it turned out the former president might be on to something. Well, it had to happen sometime.
Morgan wasn’t taking it lying down, of course.
BREAKING: President Trump issues his 3rd statement about our interview. Apparently, it’s over for me.
Actually, Donald, it’s only just begun… thanks again for a great interview (+ratings!) – I couldn’t have wished for a better launch. When you calm down, let’s do it again. pic.twitter.com/gLn5nPRIM7— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) May 1, 2022
Not that we’re trying to rub it in or anything, but here’s how Morgan’s old employer (and colleague) is doing.
BREAKING: A peak audience of 1.3 million watched the interview with Boris Johnson yesterday @gmb. It just goes to show how important these interviews are to our viewers. The show reached 2.4 million between 6-9am. #GoodMorningBritain pic.twitter.com/x5Ie30uLm0

And here are just a few of the other things people were saying about Morgan today.
1.
Piers Morgan’s ratings for his TalkTV show have plummeted by 80%. Tom Newton Dunn did not register a single viewer for half of its Tuesday evening broadcast.
Just incredibly enjoyable. https://t.co/bAzzBsS8xX

4.
Piers Morgan's viewing figures on Talk TV have slumped to 62,000. Reckon I could get that with a slow motion pair of falling pants.

Piers Morgan: Unloved 😢 https://t.co/URfHCcjHHb

7.
Seems like a bigger problem for Piers Morgan isn’t the ratings relative to other news channels but the fact that nine days into TalkTV, not a single clip from such a notorious controversialist has gone viral.

Who needs cheering up? (Everyone!)
The BARB audience figures for Piers Morgan's snoringly predictable & deliberately divisive new #TalkTV show reveal it went from 400,000 on Monday's launch, to 123,000 by Wednesday – just 0.8% of the TV audience share!🤣https://t.co/VlibqRAviO

Last word to Morgan, who absolutely, definitely, 100% wasn’t taking the ratings (or the Guardian story) to heart.
Being lectured by the @guardian about popularity is like being called talentless by Kim Kardashian. Worry about your own crumbling sales, dwindling finances & increasing irrelevance, you ludicrous bunch of kale-munching, sandal-clad, woke whiny wastrels.
