B&Q wasn’t ready for the ‘Greeters’ Guild’ – but everyone else is

Award-winning comedian Milo McCabe’s alter ego – the almost impossibly suave Troy Hawke – is an expert on many things, including Scrabble values, politics and all things Scouse, even pulling off a completely convincing accent.

He’s also the founder – and only – member of the Greeters’ Guild, setting himself up in full regalia outside random shops, offering warm words of welcome to the customers.

Here’s what happened when he tried it outside a B&Q in Warrington.

‘You don’t like friendliness?’

‘No.’

‘Fair enough. I understand. I’m off brand.’

TikTok users were very much on board with the Guild, and disappointed at B&Q’s killjoys.

He shared the clip on Twitter, where it was greeted with guild-level enthusiasm.

If you want to see Milo/Troy live, check out his tour dates here or visit a lot of shops in the North West and hope he turns up to greet you.
