A museum dedicated to poo has opened on the Isle of Wight. Daniel Roberts, a former plumber, came up with the idea after spotting a lynx log on a forest path while he was in Sweden. His museum features faeces from various wild and domesticated animals, including lions, crocodiles and wombats. The site is, appropriately, a former public toilet. “Poo is relatively easy to get hold of,” Roberts told The Sun.
Chopsticks artificially create salty taste
Researchers at Meiji University in Tokyo have developed electric chopsticks that artificially create the taste of salt, as part of efforts to reduce sodium levels in some of Japan’s most popular dishes. The chopsticks work by using electrical stimulation and a mini-computer worn on a wristband by the eater. They transmit sodium ions from food, through the chopsticks, to the mouth where they create a sense of saltiness, said The Guardian.
One person makes 12,272 airport complaints
One person made 12,272 complaints about noise from aircraft taking off and landing at Dublin Airport last year. This means that person was responsible for nine in ten of all complaints received in 2021. The unidentified complainant, who is understood to live in Ongar, north-west Dublin, has been largely responsible for a dramatic increase in complaints since 2019, said the Irish Independent. Last year, the same person made 6,227 complaints.
