Maradona shirt to sell for £4m
The shirt worn by Diego Maradona when he scored his “Hand Of God” goal against England at the 1986 World Cup is set to be sold for £4 million. The garment is being flogged by Steve Hodge, the former England midfielder who swapped shirts with the Argentinian football legend following the World Cup quarter finals match in Mexico. Maradona scored Argentina’s first goal in the match when he knocked the ball past England’s goalkeeper, Peter Shilton, with his hand. He then went on to score a second goal that became known as the “goal of the century”.
