A federal appeals court has temporarily paused a lower judge’s order for former President Donald Trump’s January 6 records from being handed over to a congressional committee investigating the deadly Capitol riot.
The House select committee was set to receive the first batch of records from January 6 on Friday. But Trump’s lawyers filed papers in the appeals court on Thursday requesting a temporary delay as they pursue an expedited appeal.
Late Thursday, the US Court of Appeals in the District of Columbia granted ‘an administrative injunction’ to Trump. The three-judge panel set November 30 for arguments in the case.
