Paul Pogba admitted he remains in contact with some of his former Juventus team-mates and ‘likes Turin’ after being asked about his future at Manchester United and a possible return to the Italian club.
The France World Cup winner spent four seasons at Juventus – scoring 34 goals and helping the club win four Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia cups – after leaving Old Trafford in 2012.
Pogba returned to United five years ago in a then-record £89m transfer fee and has gone on to make over 200 appearances for the Red Devils, picking up a Europa League trophy and EFL Cup under former manager Jose Mourinho.
Despite his influence at Old Trafford, the 28-year-old has repeatedly been linked with another move away from Manchester United, with his agent Mino Raiola suggesting he could return to Juventus.
Pogba was back in Turin on Thursday evening for France’s Nations League semi-final against Belgium and helped Didier Deschamps’ side come back from 2-0 down to secure a stunning 3-2 win.
Manchester United’s midfielder was asked about the Juventus links after France set up Nations League final clash with France and said: ‘I like Torino [laughs]!
‘I always speak with former Juve team-mates like [Paulo] Dybala. I’m in Manchester now, I’m under contract until June.
‘Then let’s see. I want to complete this season at my best level, then we will see.’
Belgium took control of their Nations League semi against France through first-half goals from Yannick Carrasco and Romelu Lukaku.
But France produced a brilliant second-half comeback, with two goals in the space of seven minutes from Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe levelling the match, and Theo Hernandez’s injury-time strike sealing the win.
‘We started very well, with 25 quality minutes moving the ball around well, but they hurt us on the counter-attack, where they are very strong,’ Pogba added to Sport Mediaset.
‘So we defended, got deeper and deeper, we stopped playing with the ball and conceded that second goal that was a real blow.
‘However, it was a completely different match in the second half, a different team and we played like France. It was tough for Belgium, I’m sure, it reminded me of our defeat in the Euros against Switzerland.’
