Emmerdale star confirms audience should prepare for character to die

Wendy in Emmerdale
Death on the cards (Picture: ITV)

Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) and Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) will find themselves being held hostage in the Hide by Wendy’s ex Russ (Rob Jarvis) in upcoming Emmerdale episodes.

Realising how much danger she’s really in, Wendy visits Vic and tells her not to transfer the money into Russ’ account.

Confused, Vic demands to know what is going on, which will lead to Wendy revealing that Russ is blackmailing her with a secret that could destroy her life.

Before Vic can discover what the secret is, Russ arrives with a shotgun in hand.

As Russ locks the door, Victoria and Wendy find themselves trapped.

When armed police arrive on the scene, the stand-off escalates into a full blown siege and outside, Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant), Dan (Liam Fox) and Bob (Tony Audenshaw) are all horrified to hear a gun shot ring out.

But of course, the all important question is – who gets shot?

‘Viewers should be very, very worried that a death may be on the cards’, Susan Cookson recently told Metro.co.uk and other press.

‘The fact he is now into armed robbery has really ramped up his level of crime; he wasn’t like that when they were together. The threat is way greater now from him knowing that he’s now into guns.

He’s basically saying – get the money back or we go to Plan B. And Plan B is really scary. It’s an impossible situation without getting into why she needs the money. That sets off all the information Wendy doesn’t want anyone access to.’

Whatever Wendy’s secret is, it’s set to have huge implications on the gun siege scenes, as Susan Cookson adds:

‘She begs him not to do this, there has to be a better way. She really tries to appeal to his better side but there doesn’t seem to be one anymore. Victoria is stalling him but there’s another thread, it’s very terrifying and one that we can’t tell you about. If Russ finds out about it, it will be terrible.

It’s a really scary situation and he is terrifying. He is a cornered animal, if he is going down he’s taking her with him.’
