Taylor Swift certainly likes to make fans work for their album spoilers and lyrics as she appeared to reveal a team up with Phoebe Bridgers for the new version of her album Red via a cryptic word puzzle.
Red (Taylor’s Version) is the next of her six albums to be re-recorded and released following a dispute with music manager Scooter Braun over the ownership of her masters.
Following the new take on her album Fearless, released in April, Red is going to arrive in November.
The record, which originally dropped in 2012 under her former label Big Machine, includes singles such as I Knew You Were Trouble, 22, and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
If the singer’s latest cryptic social media post is anything to go by, there are going to be some new features on the re-recording, including one from singer Phoebe Bridgers.
Taylor tweeted a video teaser which depicted a red safe being opened and a series of jumbled letters pouring out.
The singer, 31, knew all too well the chaos she was about to unleash, as she tweeted alongside the video: ‘Presses post…cackles maniacally…Level: casually cruel in the name of being honest.’
Fans worked out that when the letters are all written down it looks like a crossword, in which Phoebe’s name can be seen.
The words ‘better’ and ‘man’ also appear, possibly hinting that this will be a track on the album, and Swifties also spotted the words in ‘All Too Well The Minute Version’, suggesting that 10-minute long track is also going to get an outing. Meanwhile some have claimed the word ‘Ronan’ is in there too, the name of her 2012 charity single.
Announcing Red as the next album in her Taylor’s Version series, the star shared: ‘Sometimes you need to talk it over (over and over and over) for it to ever really be…. Over. Like your friend who calls you in the middle of the night going on and on about their ex, I just couldn’t stop writing.
‘This will be the first time you hear all 30 songs that were meant to go on Red. And hey, one of them is even ten minutes long.’
A song titled Broken Hearts, or Shattered Hearts, is also rumoured to be on the tracklist, allegedly featuring none other than Adele.
