Jeremy Clarkson’s girlfriend, Lisa Hogan, has revealed her son feared he was going to kill the Grand Tour star with Covid after spreading the virus at the end of last year.
On Thursday’s edition of Loose Women, Lisa, 48, opened up about what it’s like working on the farm on the widely-lauded series Clarkson’s Farm with her other half.
She also recalled the time during filming when Jeremy, 61, suffered from Covid-19, describing the ordeal as ‘awful’.
Loose Women presenter Nadia Sawalha said she was ‘amazed’ as she ‘didn’t realise that Jeremy had Covid during the filming’, adding: ‘With his past health scares you must have been so scared!’
‘It was just awful,’ Lisa replied, before explaining how her son was the one who spread it to Jeremy.
‘So my son brought it down for Christmas, and my son goes, “Oh my god, I’m going to kill Jeremy Clarkson”,’ she said, before quipping: ‘And I said, “Well some people will thank you”.’
Lisa added that Jeremy’s symptoms were fairly mild, saying that he was ‘fine’ and had a temperature for a short while.
‘He had a temperature for a couple of days, maybe a couple of hours actually,’ she recalled.
During that time, Jeremy and her son made themselves comfortable in the TV room, she recalled, messaging her and asking for her to bring them bolognese, rosé and beer ‘while they were watching the football’.
Earlier this week, Jeremy was forced to clarify comments he made criticising coronavirus lockdowns after receiving backlash for saying ‘if you die, you die’.
Clarifying the comments he made during an interview with Radio Times, he tweeted: ‘I know the Guardian and other silly left wing papers are s**t stirring. But what I said was that “IF WE HAVE COVID FOR EVER” we are just going to have to open stuff up and accept that if we die, we die.’
He continued: ‘If you really want to know what I think: get vaccinated. It’s not a government plot. Governments can’t even mend pot holes.’
Jeremy and Lisa, who has three children, have been together since 2017.
Jeremy’s first marriage was to Alex Hall in 1989, which ended shortly afterwards.
Four years later, he married his manager Frances Cain, with whom he shares three children. They divorced in 2014.
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
