Kai Havertz was quizzed on who the fastest player at Chelsea is and couldn’t decide between two of his team-mates.
Havertz won the Champions League in his first season at Stamford Bridge and is tipped to improve even further after a difficult first few months in west London.
He has returned to Cobham after spending the summer with the Germany national team at Euro 2020 and is confident he will show his best form in 2021/22.
Running the rule over the Chelsea squad prior to the new season’s start, Havertz was asked to name the fastest player at the club.
And he explained that compatriots Timo Werner and Antonio Rudiger are both the quickest in different aspects.
‘From acceleration, like the first few metres, I would say Timo,’ Havertz told Chelsea’s official channel.
‘But also Toni is very fast, but I think more across longer distances.
‘Who else? I’m not sure. I would go for Toni and Timo.’
Centre-back Rudiger, who was listening to his team-mate’s answers, added: ‘I have my own style of running.
‘Yeah, like Kai said I think in the first few metres it’s Timo.
‘But yeah when it comes to longer, I think it’s me.’
