Who Wants To Be A Millionaire viewers were left stunned after host Jeremy Clarkson claimed not to know who Anne Hegerty or Adil Ray were.
Jeremy, 61, had been asked to help the player answer the question ‘Since 2016, who has hosted the TV game show that requires teams of five to name items in top 10 lists?’
The show in question was Tenable, meaning Warwick Davis was the correct answer out of the four, with the other options being Phillip Schofield, Adil Ray and Anne Hegerty.
Viewers were left stunned when Jeremy admitted he didn’t know the answer and couldn’t even give an educated guess as he didn’t know who Adil Ray and Anne Hegerty were.
Adil, who has previously presented Good Morning Britain, and Anne, who is one of the original Chasers on The Chase, are both well-known names on television.
Fans of the show were flabbergasted that Jeremy claimed not to know who they were, tweeting: ‘Excuse me did Jeremy Clarkson just say that he didnt know who @anne_hegerty is?!?!?!?!’
Others added: ‘How has @JeremyClarkson not heard of @anne_hegerty?!’ and ‘@adilray feeling outraged that @JeremyClarkson does not know who you are on #whowantstobeamillionaire’.
Another pointed out: ‘imagine not knowing @anne_hegerty aka Frosty knickers, is one the the original chasers! You don’t know what you’ve been missing.’
Neither Adil nor Anne has yet to address Jeremy’s oversight, despite being tagged in comments by many fans after the show.
Other viewers also pointed out that Jeremy didn’t realise the show was Tenable despite hosting a quiz show of his own.
Warwick Davis was also tweeted by several fans but has yet to speak out.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? returns next Saturday at 9pm on ITV.
