Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) is heartbroken in Hollyoaks next week, as she worries that Luke Morgan (Gary Lucy) only has months left to live.
The stalwart of the Channel 4 soap is taken aback when Luke and Zara’s (Kelly Condron) aunt Lydia (Cathy Shipton) arrives on their doorstep, and offers her advice about Luke’s condition.
Luke, meanwhile, is adamant that The Hutch can be saved if he and Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) work together, and as the week progresses, he comes up with a plan that he hopes will pay off.
The duo decide on a pizza-making day, but in spite of things getting off to a decent start, the plan falls apart when Tony realises that he’s been underselling them.
Luke, however, has another plan up his sleeve, after a conversation with Walter Deveraux (Trevor A Toussaint).
He suggests that he and Tony work together to stage a robbery in order to get their hands on The Hutch’s insurance money.
Tony is shocked at first, but ultimately agrees. The question is: will it be a success?
That remains to be seen, but Cindy and Zara are left concerned when Luke doesn’t return home, and when they discover what’s happened, they’re speechless.
To make matters worse, Lydia drops a huge bombshell, revealing that Luke is now exhibiting behaviours that her husband had six months before he died.
Cindy is heartbroken, as she struggles to come to terms with her fiancé’s condition.
Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn) is livid that she’s going to lose her only source of income when Tony confesses to how serious The Hutch’s financial situation is, but she soon realises that arguing is trivial, after seeing how crushed Cindy is about Luke’s problems.
One to watch: Tuesday August 30 at 7pm on E4.
