JoJo Siwa has signed up for the next series of Dancing With The Stars – with the YouTuber starring as part of the first ever same-sex couple on the show.

The former Dance Moms star, 18, came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in January this year.

While the internet sensation is not labeling her sexuality, she is going to appear on the show with a female professional dancer.

The news was announced by producer Andrew Llinares during a panel with host Tyra Banks, according to Deadline.

JoJo wrote on social media: ‘I think it’s cool, I think it breaks a wall that’s never been done before.

‘I think it’s really special that I get to share with the world that you can love who you love, but now you can dance with who you want to dance with.’

She added in a video shared on the Dancing With The Stars official social media channels: ‘I am so excited to be a part of this year’s Dancing With The Stars season 30 and I’m going to be dancing with a girl…

‘It’s going to be the best ever. I can’t wait to dance every single week, I can’t wait to meet my partner, oh my gosh there’s so many things I’m so excited for!’

Meanwhile, Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee has also signed up to appear on the show, with the rest of the stars being revealed on Good Morning America next month.

She said: ‘I’m so excited to be joining season 30 of Dancing With The Stars. See you on the dance floor.’

JoJo opened up about her sexuality earlier this year, sharing a picture of herself wearing a T-shirt that read: ‘Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever.’

After her announcement, JoJo decided not to put herself in a box with regards to her sexuality when a fan asked during an Instagram Live: ‘What label are you?’

She replied: ‘I have thought about this, and the reason I’m not going to say this is because I don’t really know this answer. I think humans are awesome, I think humans are really incredible people.

‘Right now, I’m super duper happy and I want to share everything with the world, I really do, but I also want to keep things in my life private until they are ready to be public.

‘Right now what matters is that you guys know that no matter who you love, that it’s okay and that it’s awesome and the world is there for you.’

She added: ‘There are so many people that are there for you. I know that everyone’s situation is different and it might be harder for some people and it might be easier for some people to come out or be themselves but I think coming out has this stigma around it — that it’s this really, really scary thing, but it’s not anymore.

‘There are so many accepting and loving people out there that it’s okay. Of course people are going to say it’s not normal, but nothing is normal. Literally not one thing about anybody is normal and it’s okay not to be normal, it’s okay to be a little different, it’s okay to be a little weird, strange, different.

‘That’s something we should never, ever be afraid of. That’s something we should be proud of. … I’m the happiest I’ve ever been, that’s what matters.’

The Boomerang hitmaker also said: ‘I have never, ever, ever been this happy before and it feels really awesome.’
