A delivery driver took a slice of pizza from the box he was delivering – but only because he was told to do so. The Pizza Hut driver would have much preferred a tip – but the customer could not afford it, or at least that’s what was claimed.
Doorbell camera footage shared by the TikTok account @ringdoorbell.compilation shows the delivery driver walking to the front of a house carrying a Pizza Hut box. He puts the box on the front stoop and reaches to knock on the door when he sees a sign.
It reads: ‘No money for tip, please take slice of pizza.’
The delivery driver, wearing a mask, was not pleased. He throws his hands up and says, ‘Are you kidding me?’
Then, without thinking twice, the driver opens the box and takes a slice, removes one side of his face mask, takes a bite and then walks off.
The video on TikTok, posted earlier this week, had more than 855,000 views as of Friday. Many users wrote comments criticizing the customer.
‘Can’t tip then don’t get delivery,’ a TikTok user wrote.
Another user wrote: ‘Tips are needed, delivery drivers get paid very little. He was probably counting on it.’
A user offered an alternative to the customer: ‘If you can’t afford to tip you can’t afford to order out. If you down that bad then PB&J, ramen, Spaghetti O’s, grilled cheese, mac and cheese.’
