Dusan Vlahovic was already highly rated and linked with a move to the Premier League and that speculation will only increase after he scored seven goals in just 45 minutes of a friendly on Sunday.
The 21-year-old was in fine form for Fiorentina last season, scoring 21 goals in just 37 Serie A games, which saw him linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
The Serbia international is clearly taking his pre-season seriously as he showed he is in superb goal-scoring form in a friendly against fourth-tier Italian side Polisportiva C4 Foligno.
Vlahovic only came on at half-time of the match with the score already at 3-0 in his team’s favour, but with no hint of complacency, he banged in seven as Fiorentina finished with an 11-0 victory.
Signed from Partizan in 2018, his immense form last season saw him linked with Spurs and Liverpool, with both looking to add forwards to their squads this summer.
However, Vlahovic has made no comment on wanting to make the switch to England, insisting he is happy where he is.
‘I’m happy in Florence and work is the only way to success,’ said the Serb, via Calcio In Pillole. ‘Since the calendars came out we have been thinking about the [opening Serie A] match against Roma. We will start immediately giving 200 per cent, we will do our best.
‘I try to make myself available and to always learn. I hope to be able to do well again this year.’
The striker is under contract until 2023 and reports in Italy suggest that talks have already begun over a new deal, which could end interest from the Premier League in the Serb, at least for now.
