Job applicant receives accidental email from prospective boss saying she’s ‘not that cute’

Boutique owner cries during apology after calling employee 'not cute' in email

A recent college graduate received an accidental email from a prospective employer describing her as ‘not that cute’. Gracie Lorincz, 21, posted about the incident in a TikTok video that has gone viral.

Lorincz applied for a job as a brand representative for the Michigan-based Ava Lane Boutique clothing store, which claims to inspire ‘beauty through confidence’. But an email from the store’s VP of operations, Chuck DeGrendel, reflected otherwise.

In an email meant for his wife, storeowner Laura Langen DeGrendel, but sent to Lorincz, Chuck wrote: ‘This girl is fresh out of college (Hope College) and not that cute.’

Chuck continued, according to Click On Detroit, ‘She applied to the sales model position. Are you sure you want me to interview her?’

Lorincz used a screenshot of the email as the background of her TikTok video and wrote the snarky caption ‘feeling amazing’ with a smiley face.

Lorincz’s mother, Heather, said the incident made her daughter ‘feel terrible’ and ‘was embarrassing’.

‘She is a sweet kid, she is not an attention hog. She is not a social media personality, and didn’t anticipate what this turned into,’ the mother told Fox News.
