Euro 2020: Ross Kemp, Liam Gallagher and more react to England’s 4-0 thrashing of Ukraine and conclude football is coming home

As England thrashed Ukraine 4-0 in Saturday night’s Euro 2020 quarter final match, it felt like football really, truly, finally was coming home and the celebs were out in full force cheering the national football team on every step of the way.

Pop queens Little Mix were basking in the excited atmosphere ahead of kick off, with Jade Thirwall making a cheeky play for last-minute squad inclusion as she shared a clip on the group’s account of her kicking a blow-up ball mid performance of the band’s anthem Salute.

‘Good luck tonight lads @england. I’m around if you need me,’ she tweeted.

Two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua chose to enjoy the match at his local, posting a snap of himself sitting on the bonnet of his Land Rover Defender before the game began.

Amping up the hype, he posted: ‘Pulled up at the pub to watch the footy! What we saying England.. Izit cammming hommmeee? Comeeee onnnn!!!!!!’

As the game progressed and England started to dominate, pulling away from a single goal lead and scoring two goals in four minutes at the opening of the second half, fans started to revel in their success.

Broadcaster Piers Morgan was on Twitter, congratulating England captain Harry Kane as he scored his second goal of the match.

‘3-0!!!!!’ he crowed, ‘Sensational cross again by Luke Shaw, clinical finish again by @HKane – England are on fire.’

Previous England stars were full of praise for the confident team and their seamless display.

‘This is amazing, this is fantastic, what a game!!! #EURO2020#Euro2021#UEFA@england#ENG#ENGUKR’, exclaimed goalkeeper David Seaman, who 75 caps for England.

Oasis singer Liam Gallagher posted a reasonably calm celebration of England’s success with a single ‘It’s coming home’, but EastEnders stalwart Ross Kemp didn’t leave us hanging for one of his excited, yelling reactions after full time was called, despite revealing he was busy filming in Gloucestershire earlier in the day.

England has set up a semi-final clash with Denmark on Wednesday July7 , after the Danish side triumphed 2-1 over the Czech Republic earlier on Saturday.

Off the back of their quarter final performance, which pundits were praising as the most confident and least stressful in years, England will be back to hype up fans at Wembley Stadium next week.
