Conor McGregor suffered a horror ankle break in his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
In the final seconds of a breathless first round, McGregor buckled after an exchange of punches, immediately falling to the mat.
The Dubliner’s ankle appeared to snap as he stepped back, unable to continue with Poirier’s getting the win via a doctor’s stoppage.
‘Notorious’ secured a first round TKO win in their first meeting back in 2014 while on the rise to becoming the biggest name in mixed martial arts.
Poirier secured revenge last January however, knocking out the Dubliner in the second round.
