Atomic Kitten’s Jenny Frost talks Whole Again success after England’s Euro 2020 bid

Atomic Kitten have re-released Whole Again with a Euro 2020 twist

It wasn’t a dream… Atomic Kitten woke up one morning to find Gareth Southgate had bizarrely resuscitated their pop career.

Band member Jenny Frost was suffering from a hangover at the time and had to scramble to strike while the iron was hot. And now the girl group of yesteryear find themselves back in the charts — 20 years after their ditty Whole Again was at No.1.

Football fans across the country had been performing the song, changing the lyrics to hail England manager Southgate in a new Euros anthem.

As Atomic Kitten’s own version, complete with the Southgate lyrics, climbs the iTunes charts, Jenny revealed she was on holibobs when she first heard of the second wind in her pop career.

‘I had a hangover and I was on the beach and I was like, “What?”’ spilled the 43-year-old.

‘I went into the studio and was like, “I’m really sorry, I’m covered in sand” and they said: “Can you take your shoes off?”’

Jenny and bandmates Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton performed the new lyrics for Capital Breakfast — with a brass band — in Leicester Square before last night’s semi-final showdown.

The new lyrics include: ‘Looking back on when we first met; I cannot escape and I cannot forget… Southgate, you’re the one; you still turn me on. Football’s coming home again.’

All tat-too painful as Pete cleans up for Phoebe

Phoebe Dynevor’s American lover Pete Davidson is rushing to get rid of 100 tattoos now he is going out with the Bridgerton beauty.

The Saturday Night Live comic, whose ink jobs include a tribute to his firefighter dad who died on 9/11, is finding it painful to regain a clean bill of skin.

Pete, 27, who has already started the procedure, said: ‘They said by the time I’m 30, they should all be gone. Burning them off is worse than getting them, because not only are they burning off your skin, but you’re wearing these big goggles. So you can’t see anything.’

After sneaking across the Atlantic in the pandemic to see Phoebe, 26, Pete found himself in the sweet seats at Wimbledon’s Centre Court this week. It was the perfect opportunity to go public as they snuggled for the cameras.

Emma Willis has appealed to BBC bosses to sign up both her and Busted hubby Matt Willis for Strictly Come Dancing.

The Voice host made her comments as it was revealed Matt, 38, is making his own bid to be a TV star like his wife. And Emma, 45, says the celebrity ballroom contest is the best place to start.

‘I would love to do Strictly,’ she said. ‘I have made no secret about it over the years. I am a huge fan and watch it every year.’

Roping in Matt too, Emma told Radio 2: ‘I have said that to him… “Why don’t we do that at the same time? Then we can compete against each other and see who is the best?” He would get further than me, though — he is really good at pirouetting.’

Tennis ace Naomi hits the Netflix

Tennis star Naomi Osaka has bagged herself a Netflix deal — like Meghan and Harry — to document life in the public eye.

The 23-year-old world No.2 missed Wimbledon after declaring at the French Open that she doesn’t want to do press, and is struggling with mental health due to her high profile.

‘The amount of attention I get is kind of ridiculous. No-one prepares you for that,’ said Naomi, the highest-paid female athlete in the world, as she plugged her three-part TV deal.

Former Wimbledon champ Boris Becker commented on the Vogue cover star’s situation this week, saying: ‘The tour isn’t possible without the press. And it’s difficult to make your prize money, or money for your sponsors, without the media.’

Amber’s secret baby is seen and Heard

Amber Heard has given fans a first look at her new life as a single mum to her baby Oonagh Paige Heard.

The 35-year-old Aquaman star released a video which showed her cradling her daughter as she sipped a juice drink in the kitchen. Amber made the surprise announcement last week that Oonagh had arrived on April 8.

The bisexual beauty aims to go it alone after her marriage to Johnny Depp ended in 2017. She refuses to reveal how the baby entered the world, or name the father.

‘I wanted to do it on my own terms,’ she said. ‘I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalised to not want a ring in order to have a crib.’

What’s in a name? Quite a lot if you are Kim Kardashian, who is temporarily halting her billion-dollar makeup range KKW Beauty to rebrand, following her divorce from Kanye West.

The 40-year-old warned fans to grab her slap while they still can as she announced that on August 1, ‘We will be shutting down the KKWBeauty.com site so we can come back to you under a completely new brand with new formulas that are more modern, innovative and packaged in an elevated and sustainable new look.’
