William Saliba has chosen Marseille for his next loan move after Mikel Arteta decided to offload the £27million Arsenal signing for another season.
The Gunners spent almost £30m to sign Saliba from French club Saint-Etienne in 2019 but the 20-year-old is yet to feature for the club.
Saliba was immediately sent back to southern France on loan and spent the majority of the 2020-21 campaign at fellow Ligue 1 outfit Nice.
The Frenchman intended to fight for his place in the Arsenal team ahead of the 2021-22 season but Edu and Arteta have decided to send him out for another loan and are instead targeting Brighton and England defender Ben White.
Saliba has attracted interest from clubs in England, France, Spain, Italy and Germany, with Newcastle United among the sides eyeing a summer move.
But The Athletic say Saliba has picked Marseille and it is now up to the French side to reach an agreement with Arsenal over a season-long loan.
