Wendy Williams had a strong reaction to Britney Spears’ court testimony, saying ‘death to all of them’ in reference to those who have hurt the singer.

Britney, 39, addressed the court for the first time on Wednesday to plead with the judge to end her 13-year conservatorship, which she said has been ‘abusive’.

The I’m A Slave 4 U singer delivered a blistering attack on her conservators, including her father Jamie, and said the strict terms of the conservatorship have left her feeling ‘depressed’.

In footage circulating on social media from Thursday’s episode of The Wendy Show, the host discussed the revelations and said: ‘How dare you, Mr Spears, you had me fooled. And you too, Mrs [Lynn] Spears.’

She then added: ‘Death to all of them.’

Realising the severity of her words, Wendy immediately gasped along with the equally shocked audience.

The 56-year-old talk show host had earlier defended Jamie, saying on her show in February: ‘I think that her father is a good man.

‘I’ve heard that she still needs to be controlled, and she needs to have someone that’s controlling her finances, and controlling who she is friends with and where she goes and what time she’s coming in…’

Viewers were surprised to see Wendy support Britney after her comments earlier in the year, with one commenting: ‘Glad Wendy finally changed her tune on Britney, her ignorance on the subject was p*****g me off.’

‘Wendy Williams is finally on the right side,’ another said.

However, others criticised Wendy for her strong words against Britney’s parents, with one stating: ‘Ummm as angry as i am against  J Spears m, i think that’s no good to wish death on anyone. Not going to help the movement one bit.’

During the court hearing, Britney appeared remotely and said in reference to her father: ‘[He] wants me to work and stay home. They need to be reminded they actually work for me.

‘My dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship, and my management who played a huge role in punishing me … they should be in jail. I don’t even drink alcohol. I should drink alcohol considering what they put my heart through.’

She added: ‘It’s been 13 years and it’s been enough. I want to be able to be heard. I’ve kept this in for so long – it’s not good for my heart. I’ve been so angry and I cry every day. For my sanity … I need to get it off my heart. The anger, all of it. The main reason why I’m here today is I want to end the conservatorship without being evaluated.’

Jamie addressed Britney’s testimony in a brief statement released via his lawyer, Vivian Lee Thoreen, which said: ‘[Jamie] is sorry to see his daughter in so much pain. [He] loves his daughter and misses her very much.’
