In a hilarious segment on The One Show tonight, comedian and children’s author revealed that Ronan Keating doesn’t know what an adjective is.
Presented by Alex Jones and Ronan, David was on to talk about his new children’s book Mega Monster while also acknowledging the hard work of teachers.
The English comedian, actor, writer, and television personality has written a variety of successful children’s books, such as Mr Stink, Billionaire Boy and Awful Auntie.
In one segment during the One Show, David was reading his new book to primary school children in a class, where one student asked why adjectives needed to be used to write stories.
It was this that lead to David spilling the beans on Ronan’s secret, to laughter from the hosts and crew.
‘He said earlier he doesn’t know what an adjective is,’ David said.
The Irish singer responded: ‘You weren’t supposed to say that out loud.’
Ronan found the humour in the situation as he continued to laugh.
‘He doesn’t need to thank his teachers, whoever they were,’ David went on.
‘I didn’t have any, not many,’ Ronan replied.
As everyone continued to chuckle, David asked: ‘Did he travel through time to be here?’
During his appearance on the show David spoke about how he spends his time with his eight-year-old son, which includes dancing to the Bee Gees and playing with Play-Doh.
‘Can you be my dad, please?’ Ronan asked, which resulted in more laughter.
David responded: ‘Bit odd. He’s had a lot of work done, that’s why he looks young, don’t be fooled.’
The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One at 7pm.
