Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) has been struggling with her guilt in Coronation Street following Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) and Nina Lucas’ (Mollie Gallagher) attack.
Summer’s stresses at school will mean she is diagnosed as suffering from anxiety but in upcoming scenes, her health gets worse – but what’s wrong with her?
During a Father’s Day lunch with Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) and Todd (Gareth Pierce), Summer keeps going to the toilet and eventually makes an excuse to leave and get back to her revision.
With Billy’s worries increasing, Todd suggests it’s time he moved in properly.
However, when they return to the flat, they find Summer collapsed after a dizzy spell and all thoughts about moving in are put on hold.
Later, Summer is horrified to realise Billy and Todd think she’s got an eating disorder. But as Billy tries to reassure her, she faints again.
In the hospital, they’re all floored as Summer is diagnosed with type one diabetes.
As Summer starts to manage her new condition, how bad could things get for her?
Will Summer’s anxiety impact things with her diabetes?
