Sacha Baron Cohen refused to reveal to his risky stunts for Borat to his wife Isla Fisher.

The actor gets into a fair few scrapes as the titular fictional reporter for Kazakhstan, who he resurrected for the sequel Subsequent Moviefilm last year.

Actress Isla said she was grateful her other half didn’t tell her when he was about to do something dangerous, only choosing to reveal it when he got home after filming.

She told Marie Claire Australia: ‘I’m so grateful I didn’t know before, so I didn’t have to worry. Sacha was very kind in not sharing what he intended to shoot each day.’

She recalled the Trial of the Chicago Seven star casually telling her after he got home from filming: ‘Oh I was at a pro gun rally, everyone was carrying guns.’

Sacha famously crashed a right-wing rally for the film, posing as a country singer and encouraged the crowd to sing about ‘Wuhan flu’.

The Ali G star has previously sworn off bringing Borat back for a third film in case he gets into a spot of trouble he can’t get out of.

‘I think I’d be mad to,’ he told NPR. ‘I was so angry with what was going on in America. And I’m not an American citizen, but I was scared for America.

‘I was scared for the rest of the world because I knew that if – I felt that if democracy was completely dismantled in America, then other democracies around the world would follow suit, and other authoritarian leaders would do the same.

‘And I felt I had to take a stand. So no, I can’t do this again. Firstly, just practically, at some point, your luck runs out.’

Amazon Prime recently announced it will be releasing extra footage from Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm in a follow up series called Borat Supplemental Reportings Retrieved From Floor of Stable Containing Editing Machine.
