Votes are being counted across the country after people headed to the polls in a series of local elections yesterday, Thursday, May 6.
During what’s been dubbed as ‘Super Thursday,’ elections were held in England, Scotland, and Wales.
Several mayoral contests took place, most notably, in London, where Sadiq Khan is hoping to hold onto his title for another year.
In other parts of England, people voted in their local council elections while parliamentary votes took place in Scotland and Wales.
Meanwhile, residents of Hartlepool voted in a by-election, where Conservative candidate Jill Mortimer defeated Labour candidate Dr Paul Williams by 6,940 votes.
