The end is nigh for EastEnders legend Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) as his time in Walford is set to come to a dramatic end. With an escape plan with new bride Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) as well as the threat of prison and the Mitchells potentially wanting to silence him, there could be many fates in store for Kush.

While Whitney is hoping for a happy ever after, her track record isn’t good. But as Kush heads out of Albert Square after a dramatic few years, just how will he depart?

We take a look at the leading theories.

Will Whitney and Kush escape?

The plan is to get married and potentially escape the country together, avoiding Kush’s jail term. It’s a big ask but Whitney is on board with the wedding plans and there’s every chance that a happy ending could be on the cards.

They just need to escape the police, the Mitchells, Gray and the country. Easy peasy. Right?

Kush jailed?

He is facing years in prison and he stands up in court, knowing full well that he could be saying goodbye to a huge chunk of his life.

It seems the most likely exit for Kush given the build up and the deal he made with the Mitchells to keep their names out of it.

But now that Whitney is in his heart, things have changed. Will Kush speak out in court and save himself. Or will he have to say a tearful goodbye to the woman he loves?

Kush leaves Whitney behind?

Running away carries huge risks and while the idea of a dream wedding is infectious, a life on the run from police or the Mitchells might not be as easy as they think.

At the last minute, will Kush decide that Whitney deserves better than being ripped from her family and go without her, leaving her crushed forever?

Gray warns Kush away?

What will Gray do? Is he going to let Whitney leave with Kush? (Picture: BBC)

The appearance of sinister Gray in the promotional imagery suggests that he will be involved in the dramatic storyline – and he will be less than happy with their plans to leave.

Gray believes that he has some ownership over Whitney and given he is Kush’s lawyer, he could make things much worse for Kush.

Will he issue him with a warning – leave Whitney alone and get out of Walford forever, or else?

Gray kills Kush?

Of course, we know what Gray is capable of – so he could even go a step further and decide to get rid of Kush more permanently. After murdering both Chantelle and Tina, could Gray really be set to claim a third victim?

Given his recent angry outburst at Kush and Whitney, there is clear anger there – but killing Kush would likely rip him further from Whitney rather than keeping her close. That said, Gray has wriggled out of murder before…

The Mitchells get rid of Kush?

Gray might not be the only one who wants Kush gone – especially if Kush goes back on his deal to take the fall for the heist and the other Mitchell crimes.

If he went on to betray the criminal family, will they set out to drive him out of Walford – or could Phil or Ben even silence him forever to stop his evidence ever coming to light?

Kush disappears?

EastEnders has often left endings ambiguous and perhaps to leave the door open for a future big storyline, Kush may vanish, leaving us unaware of his fate.

A similar thing happened to Vincent and, for a long time Paul Trueman. So there’s every chance that we might not even know the full ending for Kush.
