John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) is seemingly forced to face the truth about abusive boyfriend George Kiss (Callum Kerr) in upcoming Hollyoaks scenes.
John Paul has been suffering at George’s hands for months.
The abuser has controlled, manipulated and assaulted him for weeks on end, and next week the story reaches something of a dramatic peak.
Sally St Claire (Annie Wallace), who knows full well that George is controlling her son, warns John Paul against moving in with him.
John Paul, however, ignores her warnings, leaving George victorious.
After bumping into Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) and James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan), George rages with jealousy.
John Paul, of course, is on the receiving end of said jealousy, and another argument ensues, leaving the teacher alone on the city walls with a bottle of booze in his hand.
Soon afterwards, he reunites with Ste.
Passion, however, does not ensue, as John Paul wakes up on Ste’s sofa, relieved that nothing happened.
He lies to George about where he stayed, however, and when the copper works out that his beau isn’t being honest with him, they have yet another huge fight.
John Paul later receives some devastating news, and his family rally around him, resulting a surprising turn of events.
As the week concludes, John Paul is at the centre of an important episode, as he finally faces the truth of his situation.
What’s more, he is forced to explain himself after he’s caught in compromising position.
