Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) is consumed with guilt in upcoming EastEnders scenes, as Chantelle’s (Jessica Plummer) birthday arrives.
The evil lawyer murdered Chantelle last year in a harrowing domestic violence storyline.
He subsequently covered up her death, and portrayed the grieving widow, but ultimately lashed out once again over the subsequent festive period, as he murdered Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White).
Recent scenes have seen Gray become obsessed with Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty). Whitney, however, is head over heels in love with Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami), much to Gray’s dismay.
Tonight, the murderer’s focus is elsewhere, as Chantelle’s birthday arrives.
Karen and Bernie Taylor (Lorraine Stanley and Clair Norris) meet with Mitch and Bailey Baker (Roger Griffiths and Kara Leah Fernandes) for a meal at Walford East, as they unite to remember their beloved Chantelle.
They await Gray’s arrival, but he ultimately doesn’t show.
Meanwhile, over at the Queen Vic, the killer downs whiskey and texts Karen that he’s held up at work.
Tiffany and Keegan Butcher-Baker (Maisie Smith and Zack Morris), however, see Gray at the club, and it’s safe to say that he’s hammered.
Gray’s guilt continues to eat away at him, and therefore he opens up to Keegan, before making a big gesture.
What has Gray told Keegan? Has he come clean about murdering Chantelle?
What’s more, what is this big gesture?
EastEnders airs these scenes on Friday April 9 at 8:35pm on BBC One.
