Yes, we were as surprised as you were to see Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) begin a secret relationship in EastEnders.
The two of them don’t exactly match up together on paper but Kat and Phil are enjoying each other’s company, keeping everything hush hush at risk of the Walford residents reacting badly to the two of them being together.
But could that all change when a major gesture leads the two of them to go public?
Kat wants her fling with Phil kept quiet and after teasing him about defining their relationship, Kat leaves Phil hanging.
When she overhears Phil booking a romantic holiday, she’s secretly overjoyed.
Phil is aware Kat likes him and suggests a date night but once again, Kat plays hard to get.
Later, Kat refuses to go public with Phil while Kush’s (Davood Ghadami) trial is going on.
Phil reassures Kush, giving him advice on how to handle prison, pleased with himself that he’s sorted things.
Phil tells Kat and dinner is back on.
It appears these two are moving forward with their relationship, but will this dinner lead to Kat and Phil telling everyone they’re together?
