Rupert Grint hasn’t seen most of the Harry Potter films and we’re shook: ‘I stopped watching them’

Rupert Grint came to fame thanks to his role as Ron Weasley on Harry Potter – which jetted him to worldwide stardom.

However, while we’ve all watched the eight-part film franchise countless times and could recount scenes word for word, it turns out the actor hasn’t seen most of the movies.

Yes, seriously.

Spilling the beans on life at Hogwarts, the 32-year-old confessed: ‘I’ve probably seen the first three at the premieres, but after that I stopped watching them.’

Someone accio him that boxset immediately.

Rupert revealed that this will probably change now that he has become a dad – with wife Georgia Groome welcoming their daughter Wednesday last May.

‘But now that I have a daughter, I will probably have to watch them with her,’ he continued to Variety.

The new dad last reprised his role as Ron in the eighth instalment of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, in 2011.

It was recently claimed that fans will get another glimpse at Hogwarts, thanks to a series reportedly being developed by HBO Max.

Spilling the beans on a potential show, Rupert admitted that he isn’t expecting to be part of the project – but does feel protective over the role he had for years.

‘It’ll be weird if it was a continuation kind of thing,’ he told the publication. ‘I weirdly feel quite protective of that character. Even when I saw the stage shows, it was a very strange experience.

‘If it’s like a different group of friends, I guess it would be interesting.’

The Hollywood Reporter recently stated that executives at HBO Max and Warner Bros were in meetings to find a ‘writer and a pitch’ for a TV series – with conversations thought to be ‘in the early stages’.

It is unclear as to who will play our favourite wizards in the new programme.
