TV bosses for ITV drama McDonald’s and Dodds revealed they used the same location as Netflix hit Bridgerton to film season two.
The murder mystery, which stars Des actor Jason Watkins and Cold Feet’s Tala Gouveia, will hit our screens later this month.
Jason will return as awkward but loveable DS Dodds, while Tala will come back as feisty DCI McDonald – as the unlikely duo set out to solve the latest murder investigation.
Season two will see a host of famous faces joining the cast including the likes of Martin Kemp, Patsy Kensit and Saira Choudry.
Rosie Day, Nitin Ganatra, Nicholas Goh, Siobhan Hewlett, Sarah Parish and Rhashan Stone will also be guest starring in the three-part cop drama.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk and other press, TV producer Sarah Lewis explained that some of the scenes for the series, which is set in the picturesque city of Bath, was filmed at the same location as Bridgerton.
‘As a city it’s not massive so we have already covered quite a lot of places but we did definitely explore,’ she told us.
‘In episode two we see a much younger cast and storyline so we see a different part of Bath that we hadn’t really seen before.
‘We see the Roman Baths, we haven’t filmed there before. We were at Abbey Green which we did use last year but we used different parts of this year.’
‘That was featured quite heavily in Bridgerton as well,’ Sarah added. ‘So it was quite interesting to see how they’d used it as it’s set so far in the past to how we’ve been using it.
‘It’s such a small space that area.’
Bridgerton, which is Netflix’s biggest series of all time, takes place in the 1800s and follows London’s high society during the summer season.
The first season focusses on the steamy relationship between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and the Duke (Regé-Jean Page).
McDonald’s and Dodds is expected to air on ITV later this month.
