We’re well into December now – you’ve opened many days of your advent calendar and the big day is not far off.
Before we start counting down to Christmas Day though, another big event comes first.
The annual Christmas Jumper Day, where fashion sensibilities and ego take a seat and people are encouraged to rock their most festive, fetching and frankly ridiculous Christmas jumpers.
When is Christmas Jumper Day 2020?
When is Christmas Jumper Day?
Christmas Jumper Day will take place on Friday, December 11 this year.
You can register to raise funds yourself or with friends and family, with a school or youth group or for your workplace.
You register online and will receive a text code or the necessary details to donate your money and encourage others to do so.
Money raised goes towards Save the Children
Where did Christmas Jumper Day come from?
The idea of an ugly Christmas jumper has been around for many years – who can forget Bridget Jones and Mark Darcy’s apparel back in 2001’s Bridget Jones’ Diary?
However, Christmas Jumper Day was an initiative launched by the charity Save the Children on December 14, 2012.
For the last 8 years, people have been encouraged to wear their finest festive jumper on the same day and donate money towards Save the Children.
