The Masked Singer UK bosses fear that moles could leak the identities of this year’s mystery celebrities, it has been reported.

The ITV show, fronted by Joel Dommett will return to our screens on Boxing Day.

And while bosses try to keep the names of the celebs hidden, there are fears that the show is at risk of being ruined, if a studio audience member lets slip who is taking part.

‘The new series was filmed in front of a studio audience,’ a source told the Daily Star.

‘That means countless people saw the big reveals of who the celebrity contestants are.’

It is understood that audience members are told to keep the ‘big reveals’ a secret, although according to reports, some people have already been talking about the star-studded line-up.

The source added: ‘If the names become public knowledge it will be a disaster.’

In February, host Joel revealed that for the first series the studio audience was removed before they revealed the celeb’s identities.

‘Only six producers who know who everybody is,’ Joel explained on Sunday Brunch. ‘We have absolutely no idea. We record the whole show and they go to take off the mask and we then get rid of the audience so they can then keep it a secret.’

He continued: ‘We get rid of the audience and then they take it off and we reveal who it is. They’re very angry about that.’

However, it is unclear at this stage whether this has been the case for series two.

It was only last week that ITV teased viewers with a first-look at the weird and wacky costumes in the upcoming series.

The characters include – Alien, Sausage, Dragon, Seahorse, Viking, Blob, Harlequin, Swan, Bush Baby, Badger, Robin and Grandfather Clock – who will each battle it out to be crowned the winner.
