Noah Cyrus has been forced to apologise after using a racial term to defend Harry Styles’ iconic Vogue shoot.

The Watermelon Sugar singer recently made headlines when he donned a Gucci gown for a Vogue photoshoot, with fans around the world applauding the snaps.

However, right-wing pundit Candace Owens took aim at the pictures, tweeting that it was time to ‘bring back manly men’ – something Harry quoted in his latest Instagram post.

Miley Cyrus’ sister has now waded into the debate on her Instagram story, sharing a now-deleted photo of the star in the designer dress, praising how well he rocked the dress, while using the term ‘nappy a** h***x’.

The slur has been directed towards Black women in the past, as a derogatory way of describing their hair.

Her post was quickly met with backlash on Twitter, with fans accusing her of racism towards Candace.

‘Now why is Noah Cyrus able to say that so comfortably in the year of our lord 2020…,’ one commented.

‘Listen I’m all for defending Harry Styles but what Noah Cyrus said was just uncalled for,’ another said.

‘IM STUCK ON NOAH CYRUS LMAOOOOO ain’t no way she put that on her story,’ a Twitter user commented.

Candace also addressed her words, asking ‘woke liberals’ to explain how her comment ‘is not racist’.

‘You guys love cancel culture. @MileyCyrus come get your sister,’ she added.

It must be noted that Noah did not directly refer to Candace by name in her Instagram post.

She quickly addressed the controversial post, issuing an apology for using the term – insisting that she didn’t know the ‘context and history’ behind it.

‘I am mortified that I used a term without knowing the context and history, but I know now and I am horrified and truly sorry,’ she wrote.

‘I will never use it again. Thank you for educating me. I in no way meant to offend anyone. I am so, so sorry.’

A string of celebrities rushed to Harry’s defence last month when Candace blasted the decision for him to wear a dress on the cover of Vogue.

She tweeted at the time: ‘There is no society that can survive without strong men.

‘The East knows this. In the west, the steady feminisation of our men at the same time that Marxism is being taught to our children is not a coincidence. It is an outright attack.

‘Bring back manly men.’

In an interview with Variety, the One Direction favourite later addressed his style choices and took pride in his the infamous shoot, saying: ‘To not wear something because it’s female’ clothing, you shut out a whole world of great clothes.

‘And I think what’s exciting about right now is you can wear what you like. It does’t have to be X or Y.

‘Those lines are becoming more and more blurred.’
