Coronation Street has revealed that its upcoming Christmas episode will one of fun and festive cheer!
It’s been a tough year for the residents of the cobbles, but there will be plenty of reasons for the mainstays to celebrate this festive season.
Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) gives David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) a six foot cuddly rabbit to replace Barney, his childhood pet — and David loves it. However, there’s a bit of commotion when Lily gets a jewellery bead stuck up her nose, and thus the pair reluctantly set off for A&E with the young girl.
Shona calms Lily down and makes her giggle as David watches with a heavy heart — realising just how much the kids will miss her, as they’ve seemingly decided to end their relationship.
Having returned to the street, David and Shona approach Jenny Connor’s (Sally Ann Matthews) drinks stall. However, Shona loses it when she spots newcomer Daisy being flirtatious with David and thus storms off.
David finds Shona in Victoria Garden and they finally clear the air. Yes, they admit that they still love each other and want to make a proper go of things.
Therefore, David forms a plan.
At No.8, David and Shona — with the help of Max and Lily — re-enact their wedding day. As the Platts exit No.8 and head out onto the eponymous street, the snow begins to fall and Shona stares up in wonderment. David gazes at his wife, his love for her renewed.
It’s not just Shona and David that get their happy ending either, as Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) are asked to foster a baby named Mason, and — in spite of a sleepless night — they couldn’t be happier.
No, you’re crying.
