Usually the romance rumours on Strictly Come Dancing fall to newly formed celeb/pro partnerships – but this year, all eyes are on two celebrity rivals.
Maisie Smith has done nothing to quell speculation about a romance between her and HRVY, calling the singer ‘beautiful-looking’.
The EastEnders actress has been linked to HRVY, 21, since before the show began – pretty impressive, seeing as they can’t come within two metres of each other.
And while the 19-year-old isn’t looking for love to blossom right now, she isn’t ruling out a future romance with the singer.
Speaking to the Sun about a possible spark between her and her scoreboard rival, Maisie said: ‘Not right now. He is a beautiful-looking guy.
‘But I have only seen him for a couple of hours a week so I am still enjoying getting to know him.
‘I don’t know what would happen in the future, but for now we are getting along really well as friends.’
HRVY, real name Harvey Cantwell, has been equally flirty when talking about the actress.
In his column for OK! magazine, he wrote: ‘Maisie really is so lovely and beautiful – she’s a really good friend of mine and I think she’s an amazing dancer.
‘Not a lot can really happen between us because we have to be two metres apart, but I am a little excited to see how things blossom.’
Until the two metre restriction is lifted, Maisie and HRVY will just have to settle for fighting things out on the Strictly dancefloor.
The pair are the youngest dancers in the competition, and are also the hottest tipped to win the Glitterball trophy after two weeks of stellar routines.
Maisie and her partner Gorka Marquez topped the leaderboard after a sizzling samba in week one, while HRVY and Janette Manrara’s Viennese Waltz in week two pipped the others to the post.
With the scores combined, Maisie and HRVY were neck and neck, sharing the number one spot on the leaderboard.
They’ll be hoping to break the stalemate tonight with Movie Week with their cinematic dances.
Maisie will be taking on the role as Princess Elsa, as she and Gorka perform an American Smooth to Into The Unknown from Frozen II.
But HRVY clearly lost on the suave costume front, as he will be doing the cha cha to Elton John and Kiki Dee’s Don’t Go Breaking My Heart dressed as a gnome.
Ah, Movie Week.
Strictly Come Dancing is on at 7.25pm on BBC One.
