A QAnon conspiracy theorist has been elected to a seat in US Congress.
Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican, won her seat to represent northwest Georgia.
She promoted baseless theories that claimed President Donald Trump is fighting a secret ring of Democrat pedophiles.
Trump has called Greene a ‘future Republican star’ and other prominent Republicans have made contact with her to talk about her future goals in Washington.
Even some Republican leaders called her out for spouting such fringe opinions, although even the President has retweeted some of the same theories.
She has previously said that George Soros, a Holocaust survivor, worked with Nazis.
Green has made many claims are borderline racist and xenophobic, saying that ‘there is an Islamic invasion into our government offices right now.’
Black people ‘are held slaves to the Democratic party’ according to Green, and she said that white males are ‘the most mistreated group of people in the United States today.’
Her Democrat opponent dropped out of the race, leading her to win an overwhelmingly in her district.
Millions of votes have already been cast in the 2020 presidential election, but it will commence at the end of Tuesday, November 3.
