Mike Tyson says he will be stepping into the ring again after his draw with Roy Jones Jr on Saturday night and he is eyeing up an exhibition in the south of France.
The two former world champions fought to a draw in their exhibition bout at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, with both men happy enough with the result.
Iron Mike, 54, does not see this being the end of his boxing journey and wants to get the gloves on again to raise more money for charity, which was his primary aim of this contest.
‘I’m happy I’m not knocked out or anything, so I’d say I’ll be better the next one,’ Tyson told a press conference.
‘My trainers and my sparring partners kicked my ass so bad, I’ll never call a fighter a bum again. This event made me find out what I was really made of because they beat me to death.
‘I could have done everything better, everything I was doing I could have done better, but God willing, I’ll be better in the next exhibition.’
The youngest heavyweight champion in history suggested that he could bring an exhibition to France and take on a European fighter.
Iron Mike says there are numerous legends of the game that are willing to step into the ring with him and wants to take on exhibition bouts as regularly as every two months.
‘I don’t know, maybe we’ll do something in the south of France, Monaco or Saint-Tropez and we do something out there, one of the European fighters out there, anything’s possible, the sky’s the limit.
‘I just want to continue to do this from a humanitarian perspective. My body feels splendid, I want to beat it up some more.
‘I will do it again, the sky’s the limit, we have so many great legends, an array of them that are so interested in jumping on board and being involved in this programme.
‘Listen, I had 15 fights in one year, it has to be closer to that.
‘It has to be consistent, it has to be competitive, where nobody can get out of shape because we’re fighting.
‘I’d like to have one every two months.’
Jones Jr is interested in a rematch, but wants to see how his family feels about the prospect first.
‘We’ve got to do this again, everybody loves Mike, I love Mike too but it’s something else taking punches from Mike,’ he said.
‘I’ll go talk to my family, see how they feel about it and if they want to do it again, we’ll do it again.’
The consensus from onlookers was that Tyson won the bout, out-landing Jones throughout although Captain Hook did throw more punches than Iron Mike.
