McDonald’s have finally released their Christmas advert for 2020 – and it’ll definitely pull at your heartstrings.
The animated modern-day festive tale tells the heart-warming story of a mother and her son.
In a first-look clip of the festive ad, we see a mum desperately trying to encourage her teenage son to put down his phone and video game, and take part in family rituals in the run-up to Christmas.
The story, which will ring true for many young people and parents, is set to the tear-jerking and iconic track Forever Young, sang by Becky Hill.
The soundtrack will be released to raise further funds for FareShare, which will see McDonald’s commit to funding five million meals for charity.
The 90-second TV ad will first premiere during I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! this weekend.
Originally released by Alphaville in 1984, Becky has made the soundtrack her own with a stripped back version, which is available for streaming and downloading from today.
The pop star will also be donating 10p from every download which will go to food charity FareShare.
The fast food restaurant are not the only ones who have aired their festive advert this year.
So far, Aldi, Asda, Disney, Amazon, TK Maxx, Argos and Very have all released their Christmas commercials.
An alternative John Lewis advert has also been released on YouTube, and it is guaranteed to leave you in tears.
The heart-wrenching advert – which cost nothing to make – tells the story of a man and his dog.
The advert may have an emotional and tragic ending after the owner finds Bruno’s collar in the snow, but creator Sam Clegg wanted to highlight how hard it can be for elderly and vulnerable people at this time of year.
