Max Branning (Jake Wood) can sniff out a vulnerable and taken woman like a police dog can sneak out smuggled airport gear – and yet again, he is making eyes at a married woman as he persists in being a part of Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) life in EastEnders.
With Mick (Danny Dyer) being distant with his wife, she is finding her head all over the place and, rather than being a noble friend to the couple, Max is looking for ways to use this to his advantage as he senses chinks in the Carter armour.
What a gent.
Max and Linda talk about her business idea and Max, seizing an opportunity, persuades Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) to expand the age restriction on the Lucy Beale grant.
As Linda is pleased, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) watches Max and remarks that he leave Linda alone – she has marked his card!
Sharon warns Linda about her suspicions about Max but she dismisses it, he’s just a friend. Later, Max takes Abi to Linda’s to help with her business idea.
Wary of the comments Sharon made earlier, Linda is guarded and starts to feel guilty but it is clear there’s a spark between them.
Later at the club, Linda feels Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) watching her and frankly points out that she isn’t drinking but with Ruby making spikey comments, Linda can’t help herself and steals a bottle before leaving.
But will this lapse land her back in the clutches of marriage wrecking Max?
