It’s been quite some time since we last saw Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) in EastEnders, but a return could very much be on the cards for the former mainstay following a shock new development.
Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson) receives a call from Lauren in New Zealand, and she reveals that there has been a fire in her house!
As a result, she’s got nowhere to live.
Therefore, Peter pleads with dad Ian (Adam Woodyatt) to assist financially, but insists that Max (Jake Wood) doesn’t find out.
Will Ian help out?
That remains to be seen, but — having clocked that Peter isn’t his usual self — Ash Panesar (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha) questions him, wanting to know what’s wrong.
However, there is more to Peter’s upset than one might think, as he shows Ash an email he found on Ian’s laptop. The email contains his dad’s will, and Peter is not included, while Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) is.
Throughout the week, Peter begins to punish a clueless Bobby for being included in the will, but he soon apologises after Ash has a word with him, and ultimately he explains why he’s so upset.
Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) informs him that he needs to forgive Bobby, and he decides to do just that. However, Peter soon gets an idea: he tries to persuade Bobby that Lucy (Hetti Bywater) would want him to use the foundation money to help his family.
Will Peter get what he wants?
What’s more, could a return for Lauren be in the not-too-distant future?
One to watch: Monday November 23 at 8pm on BBC One.
