After the heat got too much from the botched heist, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) decided to do a disappearing act in EastEnders – and as far as Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) was concerned, the further away the better.
But when they arrive back to discover the Square awash with police following the attack on Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), Kush has an attack of conscience – which could have far reaching consequences.
Kat and Kush sneak back into no 31, but they couldn’t have picked a worst time with the police still swarming the Square.
Desperate to get their money from Phil before leaving for a new life abroad, however Kush has other plans. As Kat goes to Phil’s demanding the money they’re owed, but she is surprised when Phil hands it over but her joy is short lived when she realises it is only a fraction of what she is owed.
Meanwhile, realising what the consequences to his actions mean for the family, Kush makes a tough decision – he hands himself into the police.
Kat finds herself face to face with Jack in the café and he is clearly not pleased to see her after their last encounter, however it is Kat that is left stunned when Jack tells her that Kush has turned himself in.
Kat informs Phil, who is reeling, and he makes a stark warning. Disappointed and hurt at Kush’s actions,Kat is still almost set on leaving Walford.
Is it over for good for the struggling couple?
