Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia Winkleman confesses she is ‘useless’ when it comes to planning Christmas so her husband Kris Thykier take charge.

In the run up to the Strictly final the presenter’s attention is understandably elsewhere, so Kris steps in with buying presents for family.

The TV star added that her other half is the romantic one in their relationship.

Opening up about their 22-year marriage to Red magazine, Claudia said: ‘You see, Kris is very Scandinavian. We’ve been together for 22 years and he’s never once said to me, “What’s for dinner?” It’s always been, “What shall we have for dinner?”

‘So we share, and when one of us is snowed under, the other person will help. He knows that in the lead-up to the Strictly final, for example, I’m useless, so he might be in charge of getting Christmas presents for our nephews and nieces…

‘I’m not a romantic person, he’s much more romantic than me, the poor guy!’

Having said that, the mum-of-three doesn’t need to have a perfect Christmas.

She said: ‘What I like about Christmas is the anarchy of it. I don’t like the pressure to have a perfect Christmas.

‘That’s not how we do Christmas, that’s not how I was brought up. I was brought up with noise, laughter and love.’

The Britain’s Best Home Cook host, who is promoting her new book Quite, previously revealed she put pressure on herself to have sex with Kris every 48 hours, and feels social media has a part to play.

‘I think social media is brilliant for some things but I think it does show you, “Oh my gosh she is just standing there looking amazing and her husband is licking her eyebrow”,’ she explained.

‘I just think we should give ourselves a break.’
