Two billionaire donors to the Donald Trump campaign, who were outspoken opponents of Covid-19 prevention measures, have tested positive for the virus after attending an election night party at the White House. Earlier this year, Liz Uihlein called the pandemic “overhyped” and lobbied legislators to overturn public health restrictions.
Racing pigeon sells for £1.4m
A racing pigeon has gone for £1.4 million at an auction in Belgium. The final half-hour of the auction saw the bidding intensify as two Chinese bidders drove up the price by £251,000. “Everybody is interested in our pigeons,” Pascal Bodengien, head of the Belgian Pigeon Federation, told The Associated Press.
Police warn man who yelled ‘wakey wakey’ at 1am
A man has been given a warning by police after driving through a residential area late at night shouting “wakey wakey” through a megaphone. Hampshire Police say they received “many complaints” about a red Nissan Navara and its occupants who shouted “at the top of their voices” in Gosport, near Portsmouth, between one and two in the morning last week.
