It’s been a while since we clapped eyes on Sacha Baron Cohen’s Kazakh TV reporter Borat, but fans of the satirical character will be excited to hear that he’s back in a new movie coming to Amazon Prime.
Borat 2 – or to give it its full title Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan – is the follow up to the 2006 movie, which was filmed secretly in the US this year and is hitting Amazon Prime just ahead of the Presidential Election.
The original was a huge box office hit – although the Kazakhstan Government weren’t quite so keen on it – and this one’s already looking like it’ll be popular, as Borat returns to the US and ‘promises to save 2020’.
We can’t wait – but just when is it released, and who appears alongside Borat?
When does Borat 2 drop on Amazon Prime?
Borat 2 is released on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, October 23.
There’s no set time for its release, but new content usually drops in the morning – so you can expect it to be there in time for your weekend viewing pleasure.
If you want to watch it you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime member, as the film will be available to stream for Prime subscribers.
If you don’t have Amazon Prime you can sign up to watch it – the service offers a 30-day free trial, and then costs either £7.99 a month, or £79 for an annual subscription.
If you’re a Prime subscriber it’s worth noting that the first Borat film is also available on Amazon Prime Video – so you can play catch-up if you’ve not seen it before or refresh your memory if you have.
Which celebrities appear in Borat 2?
Among the public figures who feature in the film are former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, and current vice-president Mike Pence.
As well as the trailer which was released earlier this month, an image was also released of Borat wearing nothing but a surgical mask in place of his classic mankini, telling viewers to ‘Wear mask, save live’.
Another viral clip also emerged of clips of Donald Trump, with what is claimed to be Borat’s voice over the top, speaking out to praise the President.
