Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has confessed she almost quit acting after being rejected by Game of Thrones.
Yes, it turns out the Eleven actress auditioned for the fantasy saga, which spanned across eight seasons, seeing it come to an end in May, 2019.
But things could have been a whole lot different if Millie had got her way.
When appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 16-year-old opened up on her past audition and how it almost turned her off acting when she didn’t get the role.
‘I think I was very disheartened by the rejection – which is something that I tell everyone it’s like, this industry is just full of rejection 24/7,’ she stated when chatting to the host over video call.
‘You get a lot of “nos” before you get a “yes” but I was auditioning for commercials or anything really.’
The star pressed: ‘I then auditioned for Game of Thrones and I got a no for that and it then that’s when I was like, “Oh this is really difficult.”
‘And I guess I did really want that role.’
However, the teen decided to try and make her break one last time by auditioning for a Netflix show titled, Montauk – which since became the series we all know and love, Stranger Things.
‘So my last go for it was this Netflix show called Montauk, and I auditioned and two months later they got back to us and said hey we’d love to Skype with you – so I Skyped with them and the rest is history,’ she beamed.
‘But, Montauk is the show that gave me hope of doing it all again.’
At the start of the month, the official Twitter account for stranger thing shared a picture of a clapperboard alongside the caption: ‘meanwhile in the upside down….’
Asking Millie for answers about whether season four has started production, the star told Jimmy: ‘Yes, I guess that’s what they’re trying to say.
‘I can’t wait to get back to work, I miss playing Eleven so much – it has been quite a while since I have been on set and seen my friends.
‘Just playing Eleven she’s always such a challenge to play, but I just miss work to be honest with you.’
Stranger Things is available to stream now on Netflix.
