Piers Morgan has held nothing back and slammed Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams as a ‘treacherous piece of work’ in a scathing takedown.
The Good Morning Britain presenter previously judged BGT and revealed that he was offered the chance to return and replace Simon Cowell after he broke his back.
But Piers refused to do it, and won’t ever return as long as David’s on the panel.
In a scathing attack, Piers told Sunday Mirror: ‘I do have conversations with BGT every now and again, particularly after Simon had his injury.
‘But I couldn’t work with Walliams. I think he is a duplicitous, treacherous, piece of work.’
‘He is one of those people who says one thing to your face and then sticks it to you behind your back,’ he continued.
‘If he was sitting there I wouldn’t be interested. But if he wasn’t sitting there, who knows?’
Piers later joked that he wanted to sack David himself, and offered him the advice of ‘sticking to writing childrens’ books.’
Yowch.
Despite Piers’ demands, BGT are standing by David, who has been on the show since 2012, and outright denied that Piers would be returning any time soon.
They said: ‘Unsurprisingly, during these times, it won’t come as a shock to the public to hear that no such discussions have taken place regarding BGT 2022.’
Walliams has since agreed to return for 2021.
There has been no love lost between David and Piers for years, with Piers claiming the pair simply ‘don’t respect’ each other.
When comedian David was announced as host at this year’s National Television Awards in January, Piers added him to the long list of reasons he refused to go.
At the time, he said the awards show presenter ‘made his skin crawl’.
Britain’s Got Talent is available for catch-up on ITV Player.
