The festive season kicks off in full swing on Netflix this month, with a whole load of Christmas films landing on the streaming service.

But that’s not all viewers can look forward to in November as it’s the officially time to binge season four of hit royal drama, The Crown.

Plus, pop fans are in for a treat with the release of Shawn Mendes’ new documentary, In Wonder.

So here are some of the best new releases coming to the streaming service in November.

The Liberator (November 11)

Based on the non-fiction book by Alex Kershaw by the same name this four-part mini-series will focus on the 157th regiment, a diverse and dedicated squad, as they fight on the front lines of World War II over 500 days.

What is unique about The Liberator is that it will be the first to use new hybrid animation technology called Trioscope. This technique blends live-action footage with state of the art CGI to create something that looks striking.

The series will launch on Veterans Day.

The Crown: Season 4 (November 15)

The fourth season of the show will see it touching on events towards the end of the 1970s.

This pivotal chapter which will see the introduction of Princess Diana (Emma Corrin) and Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson) while it will also see Olivia Colman back as Queen Elizabeth II and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret.

Season four is destined to be dominated by commanding performances from its female cast members as they navigate each other’s relationships and a world we all know is leading to disaster and tragedy.

The Princess Switch: Switched Again (November 19)

The original film saw the High School Musical star playing the dual roles of Chicago baker Stacy DeNovo and Margaret Delacourt, Duchess of Montenaro, who, for some reason, decide to switch places after meeting at a baking competition in the fictional Kingdom of Belgravia.

Hijinks and romance obviously ensued and none of it made any sense, but we fell in love, and now the actress will return for a second installment which will follow Duchess Margaret as she ‘unexpectedly inherits the throne and hits a rough patch with Kevin so it’s up to Stacy to save the day before a new lookalike — party girl Fiona — foils their plans’.

Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square (November 22)

The Jolene singer, 74, is the angel sent to save a town from eviction by showing a modern-day Scrooge property developer the error of her ways in Christmas On The Square.

Regina Fuller – played by Christine Baranski – is set to ruin Christmas for the residents of Fullerville by evicting them and their dogs from their homes right in the middle of the holidays.

However, she is shocked when Dolly pops up, dressed in white and sparkles, to help her to find ‘the part of [her she’s] lost, the part that can be happy’.

As well as seeing good triumph over evil in the vein of all classic Christmas film, Christmas On The Square also promises an epic soundtrack thanks to 14 brand new songs created by Dolly hers

Shawn Mendes: In Wonder (November 23)

The feature-length documentary, helmed by veteran music video director Grant Singer, is an intimate look at Mendes’ life and journey, filmed over the last few years.

In Wonder features footage of the hitmaker from his 2019 self-titled world tour that took him across the North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

It was a special event selection at the Toronto Film Festival.

Hillbilly Elegy (November 24)

Glen Close and Amy Adams play working-class mothers struggling to cope in the Ron Howard flick based on the best-selling memoir written by JD Vance in 2016.

The story is told from the perspective of the Yale Law student, who is on the verge of landing his dream job when a family crisis forces him to return to the home he has tried to forget.

It shows his volatile relationship with his addict mother Bev, played by Adams, and his memories of his grandmother Mamaw (Close).
